Meet Eva | Postpartum Doula and Professional Nanny

A professional nanny of the past 8 years, postpartum doula work has been calling Eva for some time, and she is excited to be supporting new families both daytimes and overnights now from NE to SW Portland. Combining her loves of infants and children, her passion to support parents in their unique needs, and her desire to provide nutrient dense meals and snacks for everyone in the family, Eva brings it all together in her role as a doula.

Whether she is providing some respite care for exhausted new parents overnight, nurturing a post-birth mama trying to heal during a rough recovery, or helping a family adjust to welcoming in a new sibling, Eva describes her care like this:

“I am committed to providing individualized care, fostering a safe space for parents to express their concerns and seek guidance. With a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and joys that accompany parenthood, I strive to empower families and help them build confidence in their new roles.”

Caring for littles comes naturally for Eva. Her desire to practically care for parents juggling more than one baby or adding a second to the family fits perfectly with day or overnight doula support. While attending to every member of your household, Eva also loves to create peace by doing a tidy sweep through the house to pick up bottles and feeding gear, dropped laundry and refill empty water bottles plus restock the snacks. Leaving your home neat and everyone hydrated with nutrient dense snacks nearby can go a long way to easing those exhausted early days with newborns.

She also enjoys the challenge of sleep support problem solving from the tiniest ones onward. She values building a relationship with new parents for such a personal and vulnerable time, and especially when she has the opportunity to work with families of diverse backgrounds and learn from the unique traditions and perspectives of people from various walks of life. She loves to create a safe and inclusive space where families feel valued, respected, and empowered on their parenting journey.

One of the things that clients say about Eva is that she is good at seeing needs and filling in what is needed, particularly without parents having to ask. We see this as a doula superpower! She truly believes in the power of compassionate and holistic care, ensuring that families receive the support they need during this vulnerable time after birth.

Eva loves to nurture through cooking in client homes, and creates healing meals of roasted chicken and veggies, warming tomato soup, buttery risotto dishes, and she specializes in breakfast for dinner (or really anytime new parents can find the time to eat).

Originally from Northern CA, Eva now enjoys calling NE Portland home. She and her partner are looking forward to future plans out of their Oregon home base, including travel to Europe and eventually little ones of her own. When Eva isn’t caring for clients she loves to create textile art with her partner (weaving is her current favorite) or traveling to see new places.

Eva is available for daytime support or up to 3 overnights a week for sleep support. She looks forward to connecting with future families through the massive changes ahead of them.
