Meet Sheryl | Postpartum Doula & Newborn Care Specialist

With kindness and compassion, Sheryl covers families in warmth and nurturing, especially overnight during the most vulnerable hours.

With years of nanny and infant care experience, Sheryl has found that the formation of the family, either welcoming a firstborn or adding to the family, is the area she most wants to support. Her years in service to others have helped form her into a gentle and endlessly patient as well as a knowledgeable postpartum doula and newborn care specialist. Her inclusive care enables her to fall in love with families, quickly becoming a part of their success and confidence.

Sheryl has loved the motherhood experience as a solo parent. Watching her son grown into a well adjusted adult has given her the confidence and space in her life to nurture others, and her favorite is to nurture the tiniest humans as their parents adjust to the challenges involved in newborn life.

In addition to doula training with Cornerstone, Sheryl has become a Newborn Care Specialist to focus on her favorite stage, and help extend parent’s knowledge as they get to know and bond with their new family member.

Sheryl has a love for all the family members, including your furry firstborns. When you have Sheryl as your doula, you can be sure that no one will be left out of getting attention and care. She can create some comfort food for the postpartum parents, when a little chicken soup and quesadillas can go a long way. She also loves to bake pumpkin bread and apple cinnamon muffins, as she knows the power of waking up to something baking to create peace and comfort.

When she isn’t caring for tiny ones or resting between doula shifts, Sheryl visits with her grown son, enjoys swimming every day she can, and loves to attend local Hops baseball games. She also loves to visit past families she has served in Portland, and loves to read about social justice and mental health.
