Meet Seidah | Postpartum Doula

A mother of 4 grown children, and a previous foster mom as well, Seidah brings her huge heart and gentle approach to her work as a postpartum doula. With years of caregiving under her belt, she now has extra love and nurturing care to offer new families as they adjust to newborn life and seek support to maximize their rest.

Seidah offers clients the benefit of years of mothering, gentle and respectful guidance, and support that is customized to each new family she serves.

Seidah is described as dependable and calm spirited, which helps with her overnight service to maximize sleep for new parents. As she brings extra love and good energy to these delicate new babies and families, she also loves to serve during the day to help parents with the first bath, or learning how to juggle the addition of a new baby with an older sibling (something she has navigated many times in her own family).

Her skills as a listener help clients to adjust to new parenthood and process their birth experience, the reality of newborn life, and all the family transitions that happen when a tiny human joins or creates a family.

Seidah has experience supporting families with Postpartum Depression and Anxiety, preparing food for recovery and healing, and organizing laundry and practical aspects of the home to make sure everyone’s needs get met.

With a background in the aviation industry, Seidah has long awaited a career change that allows her to bring her nurturing skills to the forefront, and becoming a postpartum doula has been the blend that gets to utilize not just all her hard work and industrious nature, but also her soft side. She truly goes the extra mile for the exhausted, sometimes hangry, and often overwhelmed new parents she now gets to serve.

Make sure you get a chance to try Seidah’s recovery soup (chicken soup with her extra special touch) or any of her low salt specialties developed over the past years while facing hypertension in her family. After feeding 4+ kids for 20 years, Seidah can make almost anything, which really helps when she arrives for her overnight shifts and there are few things to work with.

We’re so happy Seidah is able to provide traveling postpartum work for families that need the flexibility of someone with experience to help them manage the stress of a new baby or multiples while moving homes, changing locations temporarily, or other stressful travel events. She also just enjoys supporting families on vacation when they need time away from babies but want them close when their activities or work is finished.

On her off time Seidah loves to read and enjoys time with her almost grown kids, usually cooking for a large crew of boys (hers and their friends). She is active in her church community and has a big circle of support from family and friends, something she loves to help create with our new families.

Seidah is available for live-in and travel work only as she has relocated out of Oregon to be near her extended family. If you want day and night coverage for a week or more, Seidah would be a wonderful doula to provide round the clock nurturing.
